Advice
Inspiration for a theme can be taken from anywhere – a favourite flower, your bridal gown, the bridesmaids' dresses, books, magazines and fabrics. You may know exactly what you would like, or you may be at a loss as to what is available. Either way, I am here to provide you with lots of ideas, help and advice.
It can be useful to think about the movement of guests throughout the day around your venues. Where may they congregate or be seated for any length of time? Carefully positioning designs, which are in proportion to the space, maximises their impact and provides important focal points. Some arrangements can be made portable so their usage can double up.
Think too of associated areas that can be linked by flowers, such as the presentation of the food, name settings and the cake. Incorporating non flower items all helps to reinforce a design theme and add individuality: berries, fruits, grasses, candles, votives, ribbons, confetti, bunting, fabric, fairy lights, feathers, beads, crystals, garlands, topiary… the list is endless.
Whilst a huge number of flower types are now available all year round, seasonal flowers often provide best value for money. I can also source lots of English flowers too if you are worried about the air miles your flowers may be clocking up!
